My name is Yaomei Audrey Lei, and I am an 18‑year‑old from New Jersey. I will be attending Boston University this fall. I was born in Hong Kong and moved to the United States in sixth grade, and with family roots in mainland China, I am fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin.
I have a deep love for the arts and community service. I have been dancing ballet since the age of four and have had the honor of performing with New Jersey Ballet in The Nutcracker for six consecutive years. I also play the flute and have performed both solo and in ensembles with the New Jersey Youth Symphony. One of the most meaningful ways I use my musical ability is by performing in elder homes, where I hope to bring joy and connection through music.
I would describe myself as humble, adventurous, and passionate. I enjoy trying new things, learning from different experiences, and challenging myself to grow. My love for performing and my desire to explore my full potential are what inspired me to enter pageantry and discover new ways to express myself.
My ambition is to use my passion for the arts and community service to make a meaningful impact on others. Whether through a future career in healthcare or through sharing music and dance with those who need joy the most, I hope to inspire connection, compassion, and confidence in the people around me.
