自我介紹 Self-introduction:

My name is Yawen Lin, 林雅雯 and I’m from the beautiful city of San Francisco. I am currently attending UC Berkeley majoring in Media Studies with a minor in Theater and Performance Studies. From a young age, I have always had a strong passion for the entertainment industry which sparked my interest in acting and filmmaking. San Francisco Chinatown was where I first experienced the invaluable importance of community. My experience inspired my passion for giving back, leading me to volunteer at senior centers and serve as an emcee at community events. I am excited to share my passion and experiences to the Miss Chinese Beauty Pageant, hoping to further empower the Chinese community through representation on stage and screen.

Now in New York, I am inspired by the community fridge initiative, which not only helps families in need but also reduces food waste. Hunger is a painful experience, and everyone deserves access to nutritious food. By contributing to the community fridge, even if it's just a small effort, I hope to bring some relief to those in need. Giving back to my new community starts with ensuring no one goes hungry.
